When residents come into shelter they often have very few personal belongings. As they work to overcome the barriers that contribute to homelessness, the goal is for each client to find permanent, stable housing. When that milestone is reached, most people do not have the household basics to set up their new home.
You can help by providing our residents with Welcome Home kits containing essential household supplies. We can accept any number of kits from individual donors as well as groups. To get started or learn more, click the purple "Join" button or email Miranda Dean at mdean@lssnetworkofhope.org. Thank you for helping those we serve as they start down their new path!
Please lack items into a large reusable shopping bag/tote bag. Each bag should contain:
- Frying pan (10-12 inch)
- Spatula and can opener
- Plates, bowls and cups (lightweight and durable, 2 each)
- Knives, forks, spoons (2 each)
- Food storage container
- Dish towel
- Dish soap
- Reusable cleaning cloths
- Shower curtain and hooks
- Bath towel and washcloth
- All-purpose spray cleaner
- Toilet paper (2-4 rolls)
“My bag included household items and cleaning supplies. This meant a lot to myself and others. Everything I got I needed so I didn’t have to go to the store. Feeling independent and safe means more than I can say. Getting this was a big step to getting my life back after being 67 and being abused. Thank you for blessing us.” --Martha, former Faith Mission resident
Need to know
kits can be dropped off at our shelter donation center on Mondays and Fridays from noon-3:00, or by appointment. Please see the map attached below!
